2Oracle is a dagger that I made for the 2024 Art Knife Invitational show. It references our human desire to know the future, and the conflict in knowing that we cannot.
Oracle's blade is shimmering, high-layer pattern-welded steel, forged from 80CRV2 and 15N20 alloys. It features a central rib with an eye sculpted in the center of the blade. The hilt is cast bronze with 24K gold koftgari embellishments. I built a custom display stand for this piece from cast bronze and forged iron with a magnetic holder to retain the blade.
