Main Gauche dagger
A "main-gauche" or "left-hand" dagger is a type of civilian weapon used during the Renaissance in Europe. Historically it would have been used in combination with a rapier to parry the opponent's thrusts in a duel. I made this Main Gauche Dagger in 2025 on commission. It features a feather-pattern Damascus blade with blackened steel shell guard, 24K gold koftgari ornamentation, and an ash burl grip with twisted silver wire inlay.
I documented the entire process of making this dagger on my YouTube channel, and I am currently working on a matching scabbard.
Price for a similar piece: $20,000
